S1E1 - Introduction: Dollywood is My Happy Place

I am so excited about this show.

A couple of years ago, I was in the park and actually shout out to Mark Wills.

It was opening day two years ago and we ran into country music artist Mark Wills and we were talking to him outside of the celebrity theater before the media event started.

And I was telling him that I would love to have him on my other podcast called Radical Radiance.

And he said, yeah, you know, we should come here and record it somewhere here in the park because we both love Dollywood.

He performs here a lot in the winter music series.

And I lost the park that day and I thought, Dollywood needs a good podcast.

Dollywood needs a good podcast and that would be fun.

It's my happy place.

And so it would be really fun to share it with other people.

So the idea has kind of been percolating for a while for me.

And for some reason, I felt like this was the year and obviously having no idea.

that dolly would no longer be with us at some point this year and so it's just a really sweet thing to get to come and celebrate her life and introduce hopefully many of you to a place that i love so much so we're passing by the dolly parton experience one of my very favorite spots in the park so you can walk through the museum and learn a lot about her life and her career It's beautiful in there.

And then behind me on this side is the Behind the Seams building.

And it has a lot of her dresses and goodness, movie props.

They change the props out from time to time.

So who knows when you walk in if...

What I'm about to say, it will still be there.

But the last time I was in there, they had some 9 to 5 props, some Steel Magnolias props, and that was pretty cool.

And then behind me is one of her tour buses.

You actually can walk through the tour bus, which is pretty cool, as sort of an exhibit in the park.

So that's pretty neat.

And I'm just going to tell you about some things that I love as we walk by them.
