Well it's been a busy couple of weeks surrounding Watford. Transfers in & out. Ned and James are back for their fourth and final off-season special, they discuss how ready this squad is for the…
Hello and welcome back to the Yellow Squared podcast.
My name is Ned.
I'm of course joined by my co-host James and we're back for our fourth and final off-season podcast for the 26-27 season.
As it's all kicking off tomorrow, we face Crawley in the Carabao Cup, EFL Cup, whatever you want to call it.
So we're back.
It's a bit of a prediction this one.
Lots to discuss ahead of Crawley, lots of transfers.
It's kind of a real gauge of how we're feeling ahead of the start of the season.
We're going to try to be as optimistic as possible, but we'll see how long that lasts into the episode.
How are you doing this morning, James?
Hello, mate.
Yeah, I think you summed it up perfectly.
Yeah, I'm feeling good, mate.
You've got to have an ounce of positivity, I think, going into the new season.
We've got new players to see out on the pitch.
The league table hasn't taken shape yet.
We've got some lovely new kits to take in.
So, yeah, it's going to be an interesting one.
But I think you've summed it up perfectly, mate.
I think...
This episode is all about getting a gauge as to how we think this off-season has gone and how we think Watford are going to start this season.
Are we going to be flying or are we going to be finding it a lot harder than we thought we might have done?
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I am looking forward to this episode, though.
I always like looking forward to the sort of final episode before the season actually gets going.
Usually there's been quite a bit of transfer activity.
The tension before the start of the season really builds.
And that's when you start to get a bit of the excitement.
It is easy to sort of... potentially lose a little bit of interest, lose a bit of, you know, that love for the club over the summer while you get such a long break.
But it's definitely building again.
And despite, you know, properly miserable end to last season, I'm feeling quite excited, James.
I'm feeling quite excited.
