Have you ever sat down to write and realised your brain feels so full of ideas that you can't find the actual scene inside them? You know things about the characters past, you've got possibilities for what happens next, or you're thinking about a brilliant line of dialogue that has absolutely nothing to do with the page in front of you.

There's plenty happening in your mind, but none of it seems willing to organise itself into words.

And when that happens, writers often assume they need to think harder, outline more thoroughly, or somehow hold all those moving pieces in their head until the answer appears.

What it needs is somewhere external to place all those ideas so you can finally see what's connected, what's missing, and what actually matters to the story right now.

Today, I'm going to show you how to create a simple story mind map that helps you untangle plot problems, character motivations, chapter ideas, and perhaps even nonfiction concepts without turning the process into another elaborate form of procrastination.

And by the end of this episode, you'll have one question that you can place in the center of a page to begin finding your way back into your book.

If you feel called to write a book, but writer's block, procrastination and self-doubt keep pulling you from the page, you're not alone and you're not meant to stay stuck.

Hi, I'm Madison Michaels, author and life coach, and I've created this podcast as a creative space grounded in faith and mindset transformations to help you break through your blocks, gain creative clarity, and finally finish the book you're meant to write.
