Welcome our new judge, new challenge variations, and new bakers. Come for the baking insights, stay for the controversial thoughts about an actual use for the Imperial system!…
We are back to talk about The Great British Bake Off, series 1,000,000, 17? A gazillion.
Some.
Which feels like a different show.
It feels like a soft relaunch for the show instantly.
Yeah, absolutely.
That's something I really pointed out.
I really noticed, you know, even the sort of the picture that comes up on Sky to advertise it has a slightly more humorous, chaotic feel to it.
Like the way they've set the different hosts about.
And partway through, Alison, I think in one of the early intros, said that this series is going to contain surprises.
So I'm like, okay, it's a hint that they're properly going to try and do something a little bit
different.
It feels like, and we've talked about this for a few years now, of other reality shows are doing interesting stuff.
Yes.
And it's softly, softly thus far, but it also has a different feel.
It feels like a show ready for a different type of syndication, perhaps.
Yeah.
Yes, agree, agree.
It feels like it's deliberately targeting itself at a slightly different audience.
Yeah.
And I think we still, you and I, still sit within the Venn diagram of its audience targets, but it does feel ever so slightly different.
Yeah.
And I think that's a good thing.
I do...
I genuinely think that's a good thing.
