Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Evans | The Stages of Faith: The Faith of a Teenager
I'm a junior at the Convent of the Sacred Heart School and a youth ambassador for the African Dream Academy in Liberia, which my mom is also a board member of.
Last March, I had the privilege and utter joy of joining Lydia Spinelli on her annual trip to the school in Liberia, and it was such a life-changing experience.
One thing that I remarkably noticed was how much the education in the nursery there resembled the same exact education I received at the Brick Church School many years ago.
The complete highlight of my trip was hand-delivering the red bags to all the students alongside Lydia.
I saw how it not only impacted their day, but it made their entire year, as the red bags are one of the only gifts that they receive all year.
So today, I would like to invite you to make the same positive impact on these children by filling out some red bags.
In the red bags, it is essential to add some school supplies like notebooks and pencils, as well as hygiene products and toys that are age-appropriate, and goodies for the kids.
It is also important to note that it is better to fill out two bags than to overfill one, so that all kids have the same opportunities.
Also, the shipment of the bags costs a lot of money, so it would be highly encouraged and appreciated if you could contribute $20 to the Brick Church School for the shipment of the bags, but not including the check or cash directly inside of the bags.
You can find the bags in the narthex, the lobby, or in the garden room as you exit.
