In Prague and other large cities, many working families can no longer afford to buy a home and rents are taking up a growing share of household income.

I should say more than half of the questions that we got for this episode of the programme, more than half of them were focused on housing and no surprise there.
And 25%... of the capital's residents are foreigners and they are blamed by some for driving up the prices for locals.
So we proposed that the municipalities focus on building affordable municipal housing, rental apartments.
But as well, we focus on making it financially beneficial for the municipalities.
give them some money back because the state, through taxes, through the VAT, gets money when there is housing construction going on.
So the municipalities that are courageous and efficient enough to build to allow for housing constructions should financially benefit from that.
