Um, you know, of course, with these summits, you don't know really until months and sometimes years afterwards.
And then if you look at the readouts from Beijing and Washington, they're substantially different.
Well, Xi came with no big business delegation from China, Gordon, and he left with a red carpet picture and, you know, I, I know the president showed him the ballroom and showed off the White House.
But who got the better of the meeting, do you think? And why does Beijing seem so pleased with the outcome?
They're pleased with the outcome because they got the two things that were really important to them.
Remember, Xi Jinping did not greet President Trump on the tarmac in Beijing in May, um, but Trump met Xi, um, at Andrews Air Force Base, and that's asymmetry, and the Chinese are using that to show that we believe we are subservient to them.
The other thing, Raymond, and this is something that's occurred not just in this administration, but in previous ones, um, you know, when we talk to the Chinese, we defer taking action.
And while we defer taking action, they continue, uh, unacceptable, dangerous conduct.
