The site of tonight's Stein Olsen and Stang CPAs High School Volleyball Match of the Week as the Willard Lady Flashes host the South Central Lady Trojans.

And we are just about ready for first ball in tonight's varsity matchup in an NOC Firelands Conference crossover.

Of course, I've got to be in way early in the morning, but the last time we were here, Willard took on Buckeye Central, and that was a late one, went five sets, and we were past 9 o'clock that night.

That we were, and I'll tell you what, though, Josh, the way South Central's been playing the last couple of weeks, we might be in store for another five-setter here this evening.

South Central, very good team, sitting right around the 500 mark, and Willard, a very formidable opponent as well.

South Central comes into tonight with a 5-6 overall record, but like we said, the record doesn't really tell the whole story for the South Central team this year.

Their last time out, a straight set win against Mansfield Christian on Saturday, 25-19, 27-25, and 25-17.

So, really, one of those cases where South Central's got a lot to work with, they just haven't really found that consistency yet.

No, South Central, their head coach, Sarah Chapins, I exchanged some e-mails with her today and got some keys and got some thoughts on her team and on Willard.

And she said one of the big things for her team is maintaining composure when bad things happen.

Because sometimes when things get really bad, it can snowball and get even worse.

been a little bit of a learning curve here for the Lady Trojans this season, not just for the team itself, but for the head coach Sarah Chaffins in her first season.

as the varsity head coach taking over after being on the JV squad the last three seasons.

So she's been around these girls for the last few years, knows them very well for being their JV coach, but now getting her first crack at that varsity head coaching job.
