Let's start by easing some tension in our body or just connecting to it in a deeper way, starting with the top of the head.
Just each breath finding some ease.
Ease through the temples, through the eyes.
Down into the jaw and the mouth.
As you inhale, finding that ease travel down the neck.
Tops of the shoulders dropping a little further away from the ears.
Using some tension in the upper back.
Taking a moment what it feels like to have the lungs expand and contract in the chest and the belly.
Having that big breath.
Use some tension in the lower back and the hips.
Feeling it washed on our arms, into our hands.
Letting them rest heavy.
Down the legs, into the feet.
And just feeling the whole body being held by our cushion or chair.
And just expanding that awareness to the whole body.
Almost imagining with every inhale and exhale how it travels through the body.
And back out again.
What does this feel like? What are the sensations that might be arising? Do you feel a little apprehensive? Is there still some tightness? Maybe you feel like you could fall asleep.
There's no right or wrong way to be practicing.
Just allowing ourselves to be here.
