But before we get into it, July in South Africa is we are raising awareness for mental illness.
Um, I know that in June it was mental health awareness month, but like that was globally, but in South Africa right now in July, it is mental illness awareness month.
And you know me, you know what I'm about to say when it comes to this topic, we are passionate about it.
It's like, it's a way for us to, um, grow to be to feel safe to feel like we're improving like we're developing ourselves and all the rest and we're trying to do all these things to take care of ourselves um because this world is so hard it's so difficult it's so stressful there's a lot of pressure there's a lot going on please excuse my voice also just by the way i am I got a bit of influenza.
Like if I have to start every episode by, you know, reminding you guys that this month we are, you know, raising awareness of mental illness and stuff.
Like I want to create a space that feels really comforting for people to share their stories, really comforting for people to speak up on their experiences, things, things that they've gone through.
Um, I love listening to them because it's, it's quite, it educates me so much, you know, and I think it expands my capacity for empathy and to just, to just care.
And in return, I think it allows me to learn how to care for myself too and stuff.
But, yeah, that's genuinely what I wanted to speak about to begin this episode is like a reminder that we are raising awareness for mental illness.
We are taking, you know, what we can to do to take care, to speak out, to seek help and all the rest.
And please do not ever, ever hesitate to use my line, my, I guess, this podcast or any of my social media platforms and stuff like that to kind of, I guess, seek help really.
