Making ourselves a home we can come back to
So knowing your truth is knowing what your boundaries are, knowing what you're comfortable with, what you're uncomfortable with, knowing what your standards are, knowing what serves you, what doesn't, knowing who your people are and who they aren't and all of that kind of stuff, you know, knowing what your triggers are, you know, like that's your truth.
I think that these are things that are so important for us to interrogate and to really become familiar with is like, what spaces make me feel safe and don't? What spaces bring out this version of me and doesn't? Brings out the worst in me? What situations and environments? You know, what habits? You know, it goes into so many things.
Understand why is this thing a trigger for me? Why is it that when somebody says this or does this, I respond in this way? I react in this way and all of that kind of stuff.
Understanding why certain environments bring about a change or shift in my energy and stuff like that.
And it's like, okay, why does that bring about that response inside of me? You know, and all of that kind of stuff.
And it's like, why is this my truth? That when I go here, this is a trigger and I end up acting like this.
So if I'm saying that this is my boundary, It's maintaining that boundary, right? It's not shifting it because this person says they're going to do this or they're like that or whatever it is.
It's not self-compromise or self-sacrifice, you know, in the hopes of maintaining a relationship, in the hopes of being able to be welcomed and accepted into certain spaces and stuff like that.
You know, in fact, that is the collapse of my truth, right? That is me saying that it's not worth upholding it.
