it encapsulates like yeah I just feel like yeah it encapsulates my energy my vibe and I'm so happy I can't wait for you to read it I can't wait for you to have it please share with me your thoughts your comments anything you want to you know say regarding the book and stuff like that um yeah but it's here you can have it and thank you so much for all your support you know it means the world and over on this episode we're going to be speaking about breaking patterns you know you have to break the pattern um patterns in our lives and all of that kind of stuff but what are patterns i think it's like a learned and repeated behavior you know um when we're constantly finding ourselves in cycles we're constantly finding ourselves in the same kind of um systems the same kind of things the way that we react to things respond to things the type of people we have in our lives, type of relationships we have in our lives, all of that kind of stuff.
Like it is the way that our behaviors, you know, just keep repeating themselves in different scenarios and different situations and different timelines and all of that kind of stuff, you know, who we are keeps showing up the same way, even though it's been years later or it's just a different environment and all of that kind of stuff.
You know, when I say cycles, I just mean that, that thing where it's, it's, it's like, if we're going around in circles you know have you ever felt like that like we're just how am I how does this keep happening at this time every year you know how is this the same problems I'm dealing with the same issues how is the same type of people and all of that kind of stuff you know just feels like a cycle of like this happens and then I do this you know to try and self-soothe and then this happened like it leads to that and it's happened more than once you know And I think it's like parts of ourselves that like we've created in survival, you know, parts of ourselves we've created to cope.
For example, I know that I turned to food a lot growing up for emotional comfort and support and stuff like that.
So like, you know, if I am celebrating something it's like oh let's celebrate with a treat or whatever and get like I don't know ice cream or a burger I love burgers and all of that kind of stuff it felt like a reward if something bad was happening and I was sad and I was emotional all of that kind of stuff like okay let me get food to comfort me and make me feel better because at least I get to taste something great or whatever you know and it's a pattern that I that still shows up in my life today you know where I will turn to food if I just, I feel stressed, if I feel overwhelmed, you know, if I feel under pressure, you know, every time it's exam season, it's just like turning to all kinds of different foods and stuff and snacks and this and that.
And you feel like it's, I don't know, you feel like it's alleviating a lot of that pressure and stress and all of that kind of stuff, pressure and stress.
But it's doing the opposite because I feel bad about myself after consuming so much sugar or fast food and all of that kind of stuff afterwards.
And for many people, it's just, it's many different things, many different vices, you know.
It could be alcohol, turning to alcohol when you're happy, turning to alcohol when you're sad, alcohol when you're stressed, like, you know, all of that kind of stuff.
Um, maybe it's turning to a specific person, you know, I'm repeating patterns with certain people and all of that kind of stuff.
What I'm trying to say is like, I try to survive, um, um, the emotional pain maybe I was feeling or the stress I was feeling and, you know, the pressure I was undergoing and stuff like that.
And to cope with that, you know, I would turn to food, you know, and, um, yeah, it's, it's, it's a, it's a crazy thing to think about as an adult, you know, because you just think it's not that deep, like nothing's that deep.
You're just going to, but when you realize, like when you track back, like, why do I keep relying on this thing to give me comfort, relying on this thing? Um, you know, to get me through something.
