Rick Wise, Mitch Kupchak

Rick, good evening.

Hey, thanks, Bill.

Nice to talk with you.

Nice to have you aboard, Rick.

I just want to check this with you, Rick.

Your father was a pitcher under Ray Fisher at the University of Michigan, and he had some pitching duels with Michigan State's Hall of Famer by the name

of Robin Roberts.

Not many people know that, Bill.

Robin Roberts held me when I was a baby, believe that or not.

And he had Dad and Robin were very good friends.

Robin was the prince of a man, rest his soul.

I mean, it was nice to meet him later on in life.

And, yeah, Dad had a pretty good career in Michigan, pitching under Ray Fisher, and also played football for the University of Michigan.

It was gold blue.

And he played football with the Heisman Trophy winner, Tommy Harmon.

Well, they called Dad Harmon's shadow.

Okay.

Because he played behind him all the time.

Right.

The great Don Harmon, yeah.

That's right.

Okay.

Actually, Dad had a tryout with the Detroit Lions as a punter.

He could have turned professional as a punter, I believe, with the Detroit Lions.

Wow.
