Hello, everybody, and welcome to another episode of Western Context.

This week, the stories that many Canadians have been watching from eye to eye has appeared in the media regarding counterterrorists.

But there is, of course, also been a great deal of other news in this country that has gone by the wayside that we that we seek to provide a little bit of an illumination to this week.

Yeah, certainly there has been a lot of news this week as we reach the end of August and perhaps the summer news cycle is over when we've got major news, of course, coming from the Canada-U.S. trade relationship, but also lots of other news from across the country, including our own mainstream media and, of course, in B.C. and Alberta as well.

If you're joining us for the first time, if you're wondering what all this is about, Western Context is a podcast that aims to cut through mainstream media news and bias and sensationalism.

And in doing so, we hope to provide all the information and context necessary to put you, our listeners, on the right side of the news.

And we're going to do that by showcasing a number of stories and in particular aspects of those stories that were not talked about in the mainstream media.
