09-18-26: Interview with Nikki Uebel: Paton Churdan Volleyball

Yeah, it sounds like everything kind of all came together.

You and I were talking here before the interview.

You've been serving well all year, but some of the other aspects haven't been real consistent last night.

It sounds like they were.

Absolutely.

And even the girls' attitudes and communication and just that on-court energy and effort has been up and down.

And so to really bring all of it and have all of the aspects come together for us last night was really fun.

What do you think made it click last night?

It started with their attitudes, their energy.

Even during warm-ups, I said, okay, we're in this tonight.

And then right away we started with solid serves all the way around, but then we started running some really great offense.

My hitters were really getting good placement on the ball last night, really connecting.

The setter was running all over.

We had good passes.

So we were setting up offense a lot and really running our game.

You pull out a 26-24 victory in that first set.

What was the difference?

It was our offense.

We had some really timely kills during that one.

And it was the girls really swinging at the ball, you know, not just placing the – sometimes you get a kill by placing a good shot deep or outrunning or making the defense be out of position.

We were really just swinging and killing the ball on them.

And so that was fun.

That was a really tough match, but it was a fun one to pull out.

I know Olivia and Emily both had big nights.
