003 OSCARS REWIND: The 79th Academy Awards (2006 Movies)

So let's talk a little bit what we're doing today.

We are going to be doing one of our Oscars rewind pods.

We are talking about the year 2006, so that would be the 2007 Oscar ceremony, movies that came out in 2006.

Um, what were you like in 2006, Raf? You and I were 13 years old.

Yeah.

13 turning 14.

I think I've mentioned this on the pod before, but I think this is before, right before I started to come out of my shell a bit.

So I think I was still kinda quiet kid, didn't have a ton of friends, didn't do a whole lot.

So it's nice to take me back to that period in time.

[laughs]

[laughs] Or you'd be alone with your movies and your thoughts.

[laughs] And have no responsibilities.

Were you, were you watching the Oscars at this point in your life? Do you think you watched the ceremony?

I think-- Yeah.

So I think I, I must have.

If, if not this year, then definitely, you know, year or two before.

Um, but that was such an experience getting together with the fam.

We didn't have all the social media and everything we do now to like connect online virtually with friends.

Not that I had any virtual friends, but, um, um, just like-

Or any friends at all from the sound of it.

[laughs] Like understand the discourse.

You can't go on like Instagram and see like the red carpet fits and everything.

So watching the pre-Oscars red carpet show is, was a big thing and, um, yeah, I mean, things have definitely changed a bit.

I think the Oscars are coming back into, uh, into style a bit.

I've definitely watched the last bunch.
