Whitby, England. It’s iconic. It’s atmospheric. And yes, it’s definitely on the tourist trail. In this episode, I’m taking you to this seaside town on the Yorkshire coast to share what it’s really…
No entities detected.
If you're not otherwise occupied, if you type in Whitby, like I said, it's W-H-I-T-B-Y.
So when you, when you look at it, you'll see that it is pretty far north in England.
It's about 50 miles northeast of the city of York, if you're familiar with that.
And as such, I think because it is where it's located, 'cause it is kinda close, there, there would be some other places, other kinda cities that it's not too far away from, it does draw a lot of people.
W- If you are looking at a map, the one thing to k- kind of really note is not only, of course, is it a coastal town, there is a beach.
It's kind of split by the River Esk, E-S-K, and it kinda splits it to east and west.
I kind of figure, I kinda feel like it's sort of, um, the northwest part, so which kind of goes north and kind of, and then is to the west, and southeast.
That's how my brain thinks about it a little bit more, but they call it east and west.
So the eastern part, just as a little FYI, I'm gonna give you a little history here, um, is the older part.
This is where you'll find Whitby Abbey, which is one of the major sites which I will talk about, and St. Mary's Church.
