Uh, for example, there's such a thing as karma.

There is.

I was a freshman in high school.

I made the baseball team.

I actually was put on the varsity baseball, uh, s- team instead of the frosh-soph team, the JV team, 'cause I was a pretty good, uh, ballplayer.

And after practice one night, one of the seniors, uh, dragged me out of the shower and threw me out into a, uh, an open area and sh- and locked the door.

And the open area was between-- there was the boys' gym, the girls' gym, and in the middle was a swimming pool, an Olympic swimming pool.

And the girls' swimming team was practicing at the time.

So I was out there buck naked and pounded on the door trying to get back in.

And the, and the women's, uh, swimming coach grabbed a towel and came over and, uh, you know, told me to cover up and got me back into the, in- into the building.

But to let you know how karma is and what it does, uh, since we're kinda limited on time, the last night I worked for the California Highway Patrol, I had packed everything up, I was getting ready to leave and I thought, "I'm gonna take one more drive in a car and go down the coast highway." And as I left, it was like, it was after 2:00 in the morning, and the bars in California close at 2:00.

There's no drinking after that.

And I was just going down and I saw this car just weaving all over the place.

And I thought, "Well, there, this is, has to be a drunk driver." So I was the watch, watch commander, and I called an adjacent beat unit to come and back me up, because the people that were the shift supervisors were not supposed to be making arrests or doing things like that.

In case something major happened, you had to be available.

So I called in my location and I said, "I'm gonna stop this guy before he, before he crashes." So I pulled, I pulled the car over and we got onto the, um, shoulder.

I walked up and he rolled down the window, and I, I asked him for his driver's license and registration.

He handed m- I mean, just a strong odor of alcohol.

I mean, it would knock you over.

Uh, he handed me his driver's license.

I looked at it and I looked at him.

This was the guy that threw me out of the locker room into the swimming pool area when I was in high school.

Here he was.

Oh, wow.

This is a classic example of karma.
