But Shane, first of all, what I love about the knockout stages.

You win or you go home.

But that brings up the question of how do you deal with losing as a highly competitive person as these guys no doubt are.

Is it a good thing to be a good loser? That's my question for

you.

I don't think it is at this level, is it? I mean, you can make your apologies afterwards when you're going home.

It's just so intense.

Like last night I was watching there and Spain kicked on and got a bit of a goal near the end.

It wasn't a great game.

And then I started shouting for Portugal.

And that was my privilege, do you know what I mean? That we're neutral and all of this.

But these fellas, I often think of it in Formula 1, they're the closest thing to fighter pilots.

They're on their own planet.

And I don't mean that in a disrespectful way, but I can't even comprehend how these guys can... get to sleep before a big game like that, never mind go out there and play to the best of your capabilities.

And I think we had a lot of, you know, kind of political stuff yesterday with kind of about cheating and it didn't pay off for them, did it? And then we had the whole thing.

And even though we were kind of taking the mickey a little bit about the whole Ronaldo situation, I think it kind of has come to fruition like that this is somebody who couldn't walk away from the game, who isn't a good loser.

And I think it might have cost Portugal in the long run.

So do you think him hanging on to his position in the Portuguese side or being given that position to play, even at this stage, is a sign of somebody who's a bad loser? He just can't let it go?

Well, I think you called that early on.

In fairness, you said he affected Man United when he was there.

He affected Portugal.

And I don't want it to be all on him.

I think that's more for Portugal and the Portuguese supporters to come to that conclusion themselves.
