I've Been Fishing Caddis Wrong My Whole Life | Ep. 189

Have you ever been on the water watching some fish rise while caddis buzzed everywhere? And have you ever thrown cast after cast with your Elkhart Caddis, only to have fish refuse it on every single drift? [sighs] Yeah, I've been there too.

In fact, last week, I had a night on the river exactly like that.

But after a lot of rejection, I stopped to watch and wait, and I observed something that hasn't always been crystal clear.

Trout are moving a lot during a caddis hatch, and they're suspended much higher in the water column than we generally assume.

So today on Untangled, I'm gonna share the story that completely changed how I fish caddis flies.
