God isn't waiting for you to get it right. He doesn't expect perfection. He just wants you, because you're His daughter, not His servant. In this episode: ✨ What drifting from God really looks like…

So recently, I had a Spotify listener reach out to me and she said, "I've been struggling with getting distracted by worldly things.

I've listened to some of your episodes on this, but could you talk about staying close to God?" If that's you and you're feeling that exact way, you're not alone.

I think every one of us has felt that pull of distractions or maybe like we're doing everything right, but we're just not close to God.

Jesus actually tells us a story about this kind of friendship where there was a son who wanted everything that his father had, just didn't want the relationship with him.

So starting in verses 11 and 12 in the New Living Translation, it says, "A man had two sons.

The younger son told his father, 'I want my share of your estate now before you die.' So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons." So basically, what the son is saying to his father here is that, "I want all the stuff that you can give me.

I don't want you." Have you ever felt like you've been in that place with God, like you want His benefits, but spending time with Him can be a little bit of a challenge? Now, I know I have.

I would do my Bible study in the morning, and instead of spending time in prayer, I would get distracted by all the stuff that doesn't actually matter.

Many times we find ourselves in that place of wanting God's blessings or His peace or His joy or a good life, but we don't make much room for Him.
