yeah, okay, so a big pilgrimage is One of the many now races organized by big feet events who are local to us and they're excellent and It's a point-to-point So there is the option to buy transport as part of the package and in this case it's transport from the finish to the start.
and you before the race
yeah
um so you had to get up
pretty early
to get there to finish near fairham for
the bus left at quarter past six yes um which meant that to account for me inevitably being a little bit late I always like to give myself breathing space for stuff like that especially when it's like one and done like if I'd have if I'd have missed the bus we're we're one car household and also you were away so if I'd have missed the bus there is no way I would have been able to like get myself either to the start or to the end if i had have done it so yeah i left at um about half five um in the morning which was a quarter to five wake up um made sure i had like everything laid out the night before Just to kind of take that pressure off.
I've got like a running kit list on my phone now that I can just go through and check bits off for packing.
But yeah, I know I'm very lucky that I... am a breakfast person um but I do really feel sorry for people who aren't especially at that sort of time in the morning but yeah I think almost doing races like this because you do get some super super early ones um it would be hard not to be a breakfast person I think um
But yeah, it was
on the bus at 10 past six.
It was a packed bus, which was cool.
It was standing room only downstairs.
Yeah, we got to the park about quarter to seven.
I think for the race to start at 20 past, the beauty of it being that early is that there was no real toilet queue.
There was like maybe five or six in the queue, which
was
nice.
And yeah, it was...
It was fine.
It was not scorching hot either which I was very very grateful for and it hadn't been a torrential downpour the day before which was potentially on the forecast so Yeah, conditions were looking good.
We were told in the briefing that there were a couple of route changes.
Yeah, it was two very last minute path closures, one of which was only discovered the evening before.
I mean, massive kudos to Claire and Chris for sorting out an alternative at that short notice and to whoever was route marking as well.
