Ep. 219 – Coonhounds: Harry Oumedian & Yellow River Redbones, Pt 1

And that's how I decided what to name my red dogs.

I thought about it and thought about it.

And I said, well, I've got the Yellow River.

I see these other fellas naming theirs after rivers, creeks, and so on.

And I said, why not just go with Yellow River?

You know, you drive up and down the highway, go to a lot of events, this and that, and I see the Yatkin River.

I see this other river and Buffalo River.

And I think of these coon dogs, you know, the Yatkin River dogs.

It must be they're from around here.

I have never seen a sign for the Yellow River.

No, I haven't caused one.

I should have a few made up, that's for sure.

Hey, for our listeners here tuning in today on this podcast here, you're hearing Mr. Harry O'Meady with Yellow River Red Bones over in the, we call it the thumb area of Michigan.

So the state of Michigan, for those that don't know, is shaped like a mitt.

You're over there in the thumb area.

Close to it, right? Close to it, yes.

We're south of the bay area there, but it's pretty much in that area.

But it's mostly farmland where we're at pretty much has been.

Like everywhere else, it's grown

up.

As far as I can remember, I've only been to your place one time that I went over there to hunt.

Maybe twice, a couple times maybe.
