Randy NovakGuestDana BlackHostYou know, we on the outside, we see a lot of things that are happening in the State House.
So what was something that surprised you when you became a member of our State House?

You know, people, I think have this perception that, you know, the side that they support is all good.

And the other side are just evil people trying to burn down the whole, you know what I mean? And the majority of them are very nice people.

You know what I mean? They think they're doing what's right, and I think I'm doing what's right.

The other thing is, no one can explain to you before you get there, everything is involved.

It doesn't come with a playbook on how to get a bill through the house, the Senate, and then back, you know, in conference committee and, and get it through the finish line to the governor's desk.

There's no, and people kind of understand it, but they don't understand what it takes to, for the minority in a super majority house that you got to get something through.

So, I mean, you really have to build relationships with, with all kinds of people, people on your side, people on the other side, and, um, you just got to work a little harder.

You know what I mean? It takes a little bit more effort because, um, we're not sitting with, you know, 51 votes going in.

So we, we have to, um, you know, rely on those relationships that we're working on.

And I'm really proud because up here in northern Indiana, the Democratic representatives and some Republicans are very good.

I mean, they really care about the region, just like you're from the Indianapolis area and your reps from there really care.
