Carolyn JacksonGuestDana BlackHostI am excited because I've been interviewing a lot of candidates who have not actually been in the statehouse or done, you know, been elected, but you have been there.

I represent District 1, which is all the way up in the northwest corner, and that encompass Hammond, Whiting, and just a little bit of East Chicago.

And at the Statehouse, I serve on the Natural Resources, Environmental, Children, Family, and Human Affairs And I am ranking minority member for the election committee.

I'm also served as minority work and I'm vice chair of the Indiana Black Legislative Caucus.
You know what? That's a lot of hats and it's great, but we need to get you some help.

Really good bills, really good bills, but getting them heard is a challenge.

And as you, well, you know, but maybe the audience doesn't know that you get your, you file your bill, it's sent to a committee and it's up to the committee chair to hear the bill.

However, if he's got his own bills or his friend's bills, on his side of the aisle that he wants to hear, then yours get pushed back to the back and maybe never get heard.

But magically it might appear with somebody else's name on it and get across the finish line.

But I am a firm believer, you know, I don't have to have my name first all the time.
