Ever wonder what meditation can do for your memory? IN this podcast, Bhante Sathi discusses memory and its relationship with the mind and the brain. Using several everyday examples, he illustrates how…
Uh, there, first of all, we need to understand the connection in between our brain and our mind.
For thinking part, our mind mainly goes in, uh, in two different directions: emotional experience and thinking experience.
But, uh, for thinking experience, our mind mostly associate with the capacity of the brain.
Um, [clears throat] but, uh, uh, there are few things we need to understand, therefore let me bring you an example.
Example is, think about somebody is maintaining a well-organized storage facility.
Think who can find things easier, and who know where you can find what you want to find.
Maybe p-before going to storage facility, think about somebody organized their tools room or toolbox.
Can you find easily the tool you want to find? If you, if you talk about five, six tools, yes.
But if you talk about [laughs] hundred of tools, no, it's not easy if it is not organized.
Now, when you have well-organized person, that person has introduced that as a skill.
Imagine a library, how many books are there? But if you have a well-organized system, you can find exactly where it is, as long as you are maintaining the system you have introduced.
