Midlife isn't about becoming smaller, it’s about getting stronger. It's the point where you're finally invited to take up more space, become stronger, and step into a different kind of power. In…
So of course I'm gonna start with some of the stuff that I just read, right? 'Cause I wanna make sure that I understand some of what you do and that the audience gets it.
What is that?
Rosen Method is a kind of body work that Marion Rosen, on brand, initiated, and she was... had a history of being a person who did, like, work with people who had injuries.
And it's a basically a kind of work that helps listening to the body and learning what different patterns can be inhibiting...
Like, how we can shape ourselves as strategically around occurrences and things that happen in our lives that are maybe are not efficient.
So for example, like holding back because we didn't get something rather than having the mobility to reach out.
So it's a kind of way of working with the body to encourage release rather than trying to get the body to release, helping bring awareness to the system, which then helps it release on its own.
So it almost sounds to me, and then correct me if I'm wrong, it almost sounds like there is maybe a psychological component.
So where Louise Hay has her book, You Can Heal Your Life, and there's different things mentally and emotionally associated with whatever's going on.
Is it somewhat similar?
I think it's a little different because first of all, I wouldn't wanna totally put it in the psychological framework because it's really about listening to the body more.
And then Louise Hay has a lot more of focus on kind of changing the script that's going on in the mind.
Also, I feel like less psychological oriented and more oriented around kind of overriding unhelpful dialogues that we have in our head with new dialogues or new scripts.
But this is kind of more about listening to the body rather than the mind telling the body what it should be doing, which I feel like is kind of more the Louise Hay and even psychotherapeutic, some types of lineage.
But this is more about listening to the body and letting the body be an equal player in how to live life.
It does.
So just so that I understand it, so let's say my shoulder's hurting.
I'm listening to my shoulder 'cause my shoulder's yelling at me every-
... now and then, especially, you know, after I've been hefting carry-on up into overhead compartments [laughs] and stuff.
