This is not ...
This, this story, a warning, is about the hobby, and it's not about sports, but there is a sports connection at the start.
Um, I've been in the same, uh, dynasty fantasy football league for about 15 years now, and how, how I learned from this was that this league originally started as part of a church group where one, one of my good friends, and he's a contractor, and he was a Sunday school teacher in a lot of the high s- the highest age people at the, uh-...
Um, like high school aged guys, they all, like, started the fantasy football league as kind of a part of a, you know, community thing for the, uh, for the groups.
And eventually, it kind of outgrew that and they had people leave and it was...
Anyway, I got in the league.
And one of the guys has been in there the whole time, 'cause he was one of those group.
He's younger than me.
Uh, he was in high school when we started this, and he lives up here in the Twin Cities.
And, um, he randomly messaged me and he's like, "Dude." He's like, "I just watched some of your videos on YouTube." I was like, "Oh, hey, cool." And he's like, uh, "This is, this looks really cool." I was like, "Oh, really?" And so his name is Habib, and he went on to, like...
Uh, he watched, like, my intro to miniature painting video after he just watched random ones, and then he watched, like s- a bunch of your stuff.
Cool.
And he watched, you know, some Goob stuff, and he's like, "I really wanna start this." He's got two young girls at home, just a newborn and, like, a two-year-old, and I'm like, "Oh, boy." Um, but I'm like, "There's ways." I kind of walked him through how you can kind of set yourself up for when you have an hour or two, your little bit of relaxed time when you're, you know, the kids are asleep at night, and how do you, like, de-stress and, you know, that kind of thing.
I'm like, "It's really good for that.
It's good for you and your partner to have your own kind of time to do the thing that you like to, especially when you got young ones at home." So he's like, "Okay.
I don't know where to, where to start, though." He's like, "I'm really excited.
I, I wrote down all these things I should get," or whatever.
And so I'm like, "Don't worry about it." And then I, I sent him a giant package in the mail with literally everything you need to paint a miniature.
Nice, bro.
And I sent him, like, and I'm like, I, uh, I sent him a, the Lucent Light.
Love that.
I sent him a Red Grass wet palette.
I sent him, like, three different painting handles.
