S1E11 | Frontline Truth in Federal Corrections

We are back for another Transparency Talks.

And today, I haven't been as excited for one as I have for this one in a while.

You know, we've had a lot of conversations and things, and many have said we want to hear from frontline staff.

And we've really tried to use this as an educational piece for different divisions, different things this agency does, some of its responsibilities.

But I do believe the frontline voice is important.

And today we have somebody straight from the frontlines.

Now, I want to set this up a little bit so people really understand you and I don't know each other.

No, sir.

Is that correct? You know, I called for a meeting when I was down at Coleman and I said, I want to hear from influential staff.

So I said, I want I don't care if they like me or don't like me, like the director, don't like director.

That doesn't matter.

Influential voices that others in this agency at that location are listening to.

And that was how you got there.

In fact, I have to go on other leaders compiling that group.

So I asked that group, who are we missing? You guys look around.

Before we get started, I want influential voices.

And I think you were working the front gate.

Yes, I was.

Is that right? And I said, stop.

Get him down here.

And so that's the extent that we knew each other before today.

Is that correct? That's correct.

We've never had a... conversation before you and i didn't prep for this no i i've never talked to you on the phone nothing no um and so because i think that's important right i mean this this is the goal of transparency yes it is uh i i want people to understand i think it's probably important for you also right right you don't want people thinking you're over here prepping for this this is
