I want to talk about my biggest pet peeve in the entire world.
This is something that I truly cannot wrap my head around.
Can't understand it.
It's my biggest gripe in life.
I don't know if that's a word.
I have no idea.
I'm also really tired.
So bear with me.
But this is what I want to go down the rabbit hole about today.
I would like to know when it became socially acceptable to treat showing up as optional.
When? Just
curious.
I don't know if I am the only person who experiences this or has experienced this.
I know I'm not, actually.
I fucking know that I'm not.
But I feel like it's happening now more than ever that people have just normalized bailing without qualms, without guilt, and without any hesitation.
People are just doing it.
They're willing to just 30 minutes before, two hours before, a day before, two hours after the start time.
They're just willing to bail.
People RSVP yes and then decide if they're going to go later.
They make three sets of plans.
knowing very well that they are going to pick the one that suits them best or the one that they like best when it comes time.
They say, I'll be there.
But what they actually mean is, I'll see if I feel like it when the time comes.
And because everyone does it, we have decided that it's normal.
