Michelle Oucharek-DeoHostOkay, back to September and another reason why I love this month so much.
For me, it's also because it's a season of possibility to start something new.
Not a new year, but new routines, new thought processes, new ways of doing things.
I recall when I was in school and waited for that first day when you got to open up a new notebook, sharpen some fresh pencils, and make that first mark on the page in each class.
It offers the chance to reinvent yourself, your handwriting, your thinking, your possibilities.
Looking back though, after those first few weeks, who was there to fan that flame of excitement? When things got hard, who was there to stop you from falling back into old patterns, old time-wasting patterns? Who offered you new ways of organizing your thoughts and your learning? Not sure about you, but that's not a conversation anyone offered me back then in my 20s, my 30s.
And it wasn't until I started creating some of my own systems into my 40s and 50s that September was not just the excitement of starting, but also something that you could build on throughout the month and into the whole fall season.
So what are the options? That's something I'm still trying to figure out.
But after completing my last productivity challenge, I think I'm getting closer.
