That isolation doesn't always look like locking yourself in a room and refusing to see anyone.

Sometimes it looks like being incredibly functional, saying things like, I'm fine, or maybe telling yourself, I just need some time to figure this out.

Now, for me, the more overwhelmed I became, the more I relied on myself to figure it out.

And the more I did that, the less connected I became, which meant I had fewer opportunities to be seen, to be challenged, or maybe even hear, hey, you know, there may be another way to look at this.

Maybe ask a question you haven't thought of and remind you who you are when you've temporarily forgotten.

But because I've experienced what it feels like to be so deep in your own head that you can't see your way.
