Now friends, I have so many summer stories that I'm grateful to have experienced.
Some of those stories are summers I'll never forget for good reasons.
And some of those stories are summers I'll never forget for reasons of hardship or challenge or change that I wasn't quite ready for.
But I wanna bring you back to summer 2018. in today's episode.
This was a time of massive change for me.
I was 22 and I was meant to have finished college this summer.
This was a time when I had deferred the latter half of my final year of college.
Now I had already dropped out of one course and gotten into another one of something that felt like a safe option.
Four years later, I was really realizing that this wasn't something for me.
I knew something was missing and I couldn't put my finger on what.
So summer 2018 was during a time of what I call the shattering of foundations, where I on purpose was picking apart the pieces of my life to see what fit and what I didn't want to keep anymore.
I had left a long-term relationship.
I was putting on weight rapidly and didn't feel like myself in my body.
And I was, to be honest, just completely uncertain of what was about to happen next.
So what did I do? I booked a flight.
I booked a flight with a month's accommodation and a rep who was going to help get me a job in Europe.
They had all these different possible places to go to, but I saw Greece's blue water advertised and I said, Yeah, that's the place for me.
In fact, it was actually this week, the first week of July 2018, that I was set to go and I had no idea what to expect.
I just knew that everything else already felt so uncertain that this might give me the answers that I was searching for.
So off I went, bag-packed.
