The X-Men TAS Podcast: Survival of the Fittest

haven't actually read other people's opinions.

I just heard that there was some controversy and some upset.

And I can understand why.

I personally didn't feel too upset about it.

I know, like, people hate it when one of their favorite characters gets killed off.

Nightcrawler is one of my favorites.

So is Rogue.

So, you know.

But it's also not unprecedented for our favorite characters to die and come back somehow mysteriously.

Yeah.

We have three seasons to go still.

I'm not mad at a storyline like that.

It is precedented in the comic book world.

So I'm not too angry about the turn of events here.

There was something kind of like poetic about it.

And I enjoyed this episode quite a lot.

I had a good time.

We'll get into it.

But those are my overall impressions.

Um, I didn't feel the way that a lot of people felt about the episode.

I also liked it.

I can't say I loved it because I think for me, I, Nightcrawler is also too beloved of a character in such that I would not be like, oh, let's kill Nightcrawler to get Gambit back.

That is like cutting off your left hand to save your right hand, as far as I'm concerned.

It doesn't feel good, but I think part of the reason for that is... doesn't feel good because it also doesn't super feel like it had to happen like this it kind of felt like a haha we're gonna get them one more time on that with a parting shot as opposed to something that genuinely felt motivated by this story um and maybe that's just because the deus machina using a celestial for shit um But, oh, yeah, overall, there was a lot of fun things like it's as much as we would love mutant unity.
