Daniel Willcocks' own nonfiction book got flagged and blocked from Draft2Digital — not because it was bad, not because it broke any rules, but because an automated system decided it looked too…
So I have launched the Self Publishing Blueprint 2.0 for people who listened to the episode the week before last with Michael David Wilson.
And I mean, one of those challenges, I'll kind of give the broad strokes here just because there's a lot I do kind of want to get through.
And if people want to find out more about this, just reach out and let me know.
I was basically almost blocked from Draft2Digital and a few other platforms.
But essentially, in launching the e-book edition of the self-publishing Blueprint 2.0, I've been using a new ISBN because it's a new edition.
And so trying to put that through, and then essentially, because it is a nonfiction book under what is called a, or what is kind of identified as a generic subject, how to self-publish, the book was flagged by some kind of system.
I can make an assumption as to what kind of system, but I can't say that legally.
But their system basically flagged it as a, topic that is currently flooding the market and shouldn't be published so i then had to have a bunch of conversations behind the scenes with a few contacts i know with some support people to try and rectify this and kind of point out that hey this book has already been published before this is the second edition um but also you know it is written by human and it isn't generic ai slot that has just been thrown into this category which i understand that a lot of these platforms at the minute are getting absolutely hounded with people just uploading generic AI crap onto their systems, which is awful and it's wrong and it's gross and it affects human authors like you and I.
