Episode 45: Spill The Tea (Part 2)

All right.

So I think.

Yeah.

So I think the biggest thing when we're talking about drama at barns, especially for the younger riders, but it can happen, I think, for adult amateurs as well.

Is cliques.

Yes.

And different groups at the barn.

And I've seen this a lot in different situations.

I've heard about it a lot.

And it can be a very uncomfortable situation, especially if you're new to the barn and there's already established riders.

If you're entering as a beginner rider and there's individuals at the barn that are more advanced than you.

or um sometimes for like ages like age gaps happen where there's an age gap between people but you feel like you're left out so um that could be a very big um i guess drama situation just an uncomfortable environment to be in and it can make individuals and riders and feel like they don't want to go to the barn because i'm afraid of seeing this person i'm afraid like i know when i was growing up there was like click one of the barns and I loved horses, but it always made me feel uncomfortable when I went and I saw someone in that clip because it just like, and it's not that they maybe weren't friendly.

It was just, they weren't welcoming.

They kind of stuck to themselves and it just like, it makes you feel really, you know, like left out.

And then this is a community when I go to the bar.

And

it's like, it makes it feel like, To use a corporate term, a hostile work environment.

And, like, we go to the barn because I love hanging out with people and I love being able to ride with people.

I mean, granted, I do love riding alone sometimes.

Like, if I'm focused and I want something done, I want to just be by myself.

But, like, trail rides with friends are fun.

Like, hacking out.

Like, it's just nice when you have people at the barn and you feel like you're welcome.

If you go to the barn and there's someone there that you're like, I hope they're not there.

then that's making for a really tough environment.
