On this episode of The Weekly Scroll Podcast, Ryan sits down with Curtis of RAMSHACKLE GAMES to talk model making, collaborating with artists, Boglanders and Mini Gangs, polyurethane, and more. Find…
No, it's more like I have the thing of like, I sometimes look at what I'm doing.
I'm making a bunch of scenery.
I want to do a Realm of Chaos sort of vibes warband day, but I have to make all the scenery.
The idea is to make 10 battle mats that are three by three, plus enough scenery to go with them.
And I'm trying to do this thing where it's like, I need to make it cheaply.
I need to make it quick.
It needs to be lightweight, but it also needs to look kind of cool, something different.
I want to do sort of like chaos terrain, you know, this idea of how can you make a model of something, of architecture that drives a man insane from looking at it? How can I make non-Euclidean, monstrosities well you can't but I can still make pretty weird stuff so I've been making these weird things recently and I'm just looking at them going what am I doing you know what is this that I'm making so yeah I don't know but it's art isn't it it's all for fun
I mean, didn't you, in the downloads on your website, because I remember, didn't you put out like a Realms of Chaos, like a little campaign document for people? And if you go to the Ramshackle store, there is a Realms of Chaos campaign 2026 download with this gorgeous spread of models on it.
And yeah, I mean...
The games are great, and I think a lot of people want to play them.
And you play them with, like, third edition Warhammer, but it's, like, incredibly... ..like, janky? No, what's the word? Crunchy? It's a very crunchy game.
And the rule books are laid out really weirdly.
You know, and I mean, it's like...
The Realm of Chaos books, there's two that are like 250 pages and then the rule book is 250 pages.
So what I did was just write like a quick reference, like quick introduction that if you don't know what you're doing, if you've never played it before, you can go in and make a war band.
You can go in and like, it's all the, I kind of like did a synopsis of how to play third edition if you're just going to be playing Chaos War bands with it.
And I mean, Chaos Warbands is like the books.
The Realm of Chaos books gives you rules for playing Chaos armies.
But part of it is like this sort of skirmish level.
it was kind of like their experiment in it really.
