Oasis Supernova

No one wants to hear me and we'll talk.

But, um, just stop me if you want to, if there's anything you want to focus in on.

But, um, the big idea that I had with Oasis Supernova really in the first instance was, um, I wanted to, like, I don't look anything like Noel and I saw enough, I saw enough bands and stuff on, um, on social media that it just looked so bad all the time.

There's obviously acts that are fantastic like Oasis that are playing in theatres and absolutely smashing it.

But there is a lot of bands, and no disrespect, but they just think that you've got to put sunglasses and a bucket hat on and start doing Oasis tunes and all of a sudden you're an Oasis tribute band.

And as a hardcore fan, that's kind of why I had to start doing it because I was like, I can't have this.

it doesn't sound right and it looks really bad.

So, but going back to my point, I don't look anything like Noel.

So what I wanted to do was, I'd not seen anybody at that point doing it.

So I do think that we're the first ones, the first bands to sync up the visuals of the band playing behind us.

So when we play, If I'm singing Noel's bit, you've got Noel singing exactly the same thing and the band playing in time with us on the video screen.

So I wanted to bring Oasis into the band.

So it looked like there was an extra dimension going on with the band playing.

That was a lot of fun, I can tell you.

And it continues to this day because basically what I do is take videos of Oasis tunes, the different versions that we want to do, and then I have to sync them all up to a click track, and cut it, and edit it, and without giving the game away too much, it's painstaking work, and I'm just working on Nebworth at the minute, and God bless Alan White, but his drumming is not in time.

He is not metronomical.

So a lot of our videos in the first instance started around Zach when he started using clicks because I could get a click to time to the drummers.

And also some of the quality of the video was obviously like 1080 and some of it's even 4K now.

So yeah, so that was, you know, when we played our first gig, there was as much stress about making sure that we had a projector and the screen all set up and everything, you know, we had the organ surrounded, everything like set up and there was as much hassle going on that as there was around people remembering the chords, basically.

Yeah, I bet.

So you mentioned you wanted to play in like the best venues with the best sound systems.

Did you have to, were those first few gigs a bit more ramshackle or did you go straight into the...

It's, I mean, you guys, Nathan, you're in a Strokes tribute, right? Yeah.

I don't know how many other Strokes tributes there are out, but I'm guessing there's not going to be anywhere near as many as there is Oasis.

The competition is insane.
