The Warm Up with Kelsey McCormick
Sep 8, 2026 · 25 min · 10 segments
Most launch copy falls flat because it’s just… too broad. In this solo episode, I’m breaking down how to write magnetic messaging that actually sells (without sounding like everyone else online). If…
You're not going to warm up an audience if you don't have really specific messaging that speaks directly to them.
If it's too broad, if it's too watered down, it's going to be really hard to grow a hot, ready to buy community because people just don't know what they're buying into.
The best feedback you can get when you're launching is, oh my God, you're calling me out or oh my God, like you're speaking directly to me.
When you open up a dialogue with your audience and start having conversations, right? Like developing messaging is such a two-way process.
It's not just like, You do it in a silo and then you suddenly launch and put the messaging out there.
Throughout the warm-up process, you should be testing out your messaging, having conversations.
And the moment that you start getting people being like, wow, like this is made for me.
But in this episode, I really want you to get started and develop the messaging that you can begin to test out and hopefully start really hitting that nerve in your audience.
Start really getting those reactions where people are like, yes, this is for me because you can literally have the best product in the world.
But if your offer isn't speaking to your ideal client and customer, if It's not really like hitting those right notes for them.
The good news is the best way to test this out is to actually start the warm up process and go into a launch because you can kind of adjust your messaging along the way, test out what works and what doesn't.
And then either adjust it in real time for your launch or get the feedback and adjust for your next launch.
There's also a world in which messaging can change slightly seasonally, like the seasonality of messaging and where you might adjust your messaging for the summer when people are out of office more and want to be off their phones and social media more versus like the holidays where it's like black Friday.
So that's something to keep in mind as well as we dive into this offer messaging, just like offers, just like anything in your business, your website, it's all living, breathing, evolving things that are never set in stone.
