In this episode, I share a part of a live training that Dan did with our coaches about drill design. You can see what his thought process is and how efficient his drill designs are based on…
And this training today, so Dan Lewis, who's, uh, you know, the Canadian Men's National Team Coach, um, he did a session, and his session lasted like an hour and a half.
I, I, I extracted a part of his session that you're gonna get a chance to listen today, and even this one part I extracted is amazing.
Sorry, not see, but you're gonna hear the way that he thinks about doing his drills, the phases of volleyball when he is creating a drill.
You're gonna hear how he thinks about it, how he talks about, you know, volume, uh, versus gameplay and, and the variables and, um, and how you incorporate inputting the ball to the volume, to the mechanics, how you train it.
Like, when you have certain athletes that need to get a little bit caught up on mechanics so they don't, like, slow down drills, well, how do you do that? And you're gonna hear about his RTG and how he has specific time during his practice where he organizes a way where certain athletes can get reps while other athletes are warming up.
Like, it's just, it's so efficient the way that they think about it, and it's not even just him.
So you're gonna hear some high-level conversation, and this can be applied to youth volley- like 14U all the way up to national team.
