In today's episode, I want to talk to you about doing a reset with your team if it's needed.

So in the first scenario, a leader who joined a company maybe two years ago and was given a really large assignment with a big team.

And of course, expectations were high to meet those requirements and to deliver and implement some changes quickly.

And so that's what he really focused on was making sure that those expectations were met.

But he failed to think about, what could I do when a year from now, we still have a lot to do, and the team is now losing motivation and is a little bit frustrated with everything that's happening.

Something that you put together in the beginning that you can remind them of the why behind what they're doing.

Because when you're losing motivation, you need a why to remind people why it's important that they're doing what they're doing.

He said he kind of smiled and he said, I actually put together a purpose, but we never actually got to it.

So I think that's pretty common, right? Because the needs of the business are driving a lot of pressure on a leader to get things done.

But if you can start with a purpose and create a why for people to really hold on to, it will serve you so much better.
