Tony Iommi

Well, I want to start with something briefly before I forget it, Tony.

It was so cool to see you post on social media about getting together with Ian Anderson.

I know how much moments like that mean to you, right?

Absolutely.

Yeah.

I mean, we've always stayed in touch, you know, generally email.

And we've met up a couple of times in the last few years.

So we try and get it in when we can, you know, when he's not touring or I'm not touring or doing anything.

It was really good.

Yeah, we had a great day and talked to each other to death.

That's fantastic.

Yeah, I love seeing that, that you guys talked for hours, as you said.

That's so cool.

Oh, God.

Yeah, we're rambling on.

I can't even remember what we talked about now.

Well, for folks that don't know, I just would love to have you share the story really briefly, like how you know Ian, how you came to know Ian, and how you end up joining Jethro Tull briefly, because it seems like an experience that, although it was brief, it ends up having a pretty profound impact on you.

Yeah.

How I ended up first seeing Ian, we were, when we were called Earth, which is the same band that I see Bill and Keith.

We did a gig, we supported them at a gig.

in England and it was that particular evening, Mick Abrams was leaving and he told them on stage, I think, that he was leaving or passed a note to them saying, I'm off sort of thing.

So that's when it sort of started and then they, they got in touch with me and they asked me if I'd be interested in joining them.

And then we left it like that.

Then they got in touch with me again and said, could I come down to London? Because I lived in Birmingham.

So I went to London and I didn't realise there was, I thought there was just going to be me there.
