And for me, it's becoming the story for the first time in 40 years of traveling that I wanted to leave somewhere on for one reason only, and that was the heat.
When I loved Egypt from the moment I stepped off the plane into all that dry, almost brutal heat of the desert.
If you'd told me 30 years ago that heat would one day beat me, I'd have laughed at you.
I was the one telling other people to stop moaning, drink some water, take refuge in a nice hotel or one of those incredible shopping centres which are like 16 degrees.
