At Thru-R, we focus on helping you prepare for trail and connect to the hiking community.
This is something I personally would have loved while preparing for my first thru-hike, so I built it with the hiking community.
If you're an aspiring or experienced long-distance hiker and wanna get involved with Thru-R, join our trail family at thru-r.com. That's T-H-R-U dash r.com. [upbeat music] Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Thru-Hiking Podcast.
MacGyver is an ambassador with us here at Thru-R, and in this episode, we're gonna be going over international hiking versus hiking in the US.
So MacGyver has hiked many trails, including the Pacific Crest Trail here in the US, the Tahoe Rim Trail, Trans-Catalina Trail, and also internationally, MacGyver has hiked the Camino and the HexaTrek, and most recently, up Kilimanjaro.
So there's definitely a lot to be said here, and if you like to go back and do a deep dive into the HexaTrek, you can go back to episode 186.
But in this episode, we will be focusing on tips for hiking Kilimanjaro and things to keep in mind, the best resources for researching the Camino, solo hiking versus guided hiking and knowing your limits, and just generally hiking internationally versus hiking in the US, the differences.
