Today, we are delighted to welcome Dr. Christine Anzieux-Premereux to talk about her experience as a parent infant psychotherapist.
Christine Anzieux-Premereux has a PhD in psychology and clinical psychology and is an adult and child psychiatrist.
She directed the parent-infant psychotherapy program as assistant clinical professor in psychiatry at Columbia University.
Dr. Primer has published two books in French on play in child psychotherapy and psychoanalytic interventions with parents and babies.
And she's published papers in English on child psychoanalysis, on motherhood, the symbolic process, and psychosomatics.
In 2024, she wrote on motherhood without pregnancy, surrogacy, a challenge for femininity and maternal preoccupation.
In 2025, she published on psychic envelopes and spaces for young children during the pandemic in the co-cap book, Child and Adolescent Psychoanalysis in Times of Crisis.
And in March, 2026, in a new co-cap book, The Body and Compulsion, in infant, child, children, and adolescents, new perspectives on addiction, self-harm, and suicide, she contributed the first chapter on babies and compulsion.
Christine, I wonder if you would begin by telling us a story about what interested you first in parent-infant psychotherapy.
