"This has been our world as much as it is yours, and we've protected it as such.

In the past, we went to great lengths to make sure you never found out about us, so you could stay oblivious and comfortable, and we could carry on with our lives just the same.

If any of you took a breath to wonder what catastrophes have been avoided by us working in the shadows, you might think twice about wanting us gone.

But more than that," I slapped the table with my hand and noticed Jerry jump from the corner of my eye, "maybe you start asking the people what they want, not just the ones who scream the loudest, because it would really suck if peace fell off the rails because you and your dickhole compatriots have such massive egos that not only can you not accept you aren't at the top of the food chain, but your fear and insecurity make you oblivious and uncaring to what the majority of the people you claim to work for want." I was trying to get to the root of your question." Kleckner wasn't satisfied with the answer.

"I call on Indiana Senator Grace." "Thank you, Senator Kleckner." The woman taking over the questioning looked like a fierce bird of prey, a hawkish nose, pronounced brow, and sharp cheekbones, all surrounded with a halo of curly gray hair.

"I would like to move on to Miss Urqhart's time at the DIWR." I shot Jerry a glare.

"I was under the impression I was here to answer questions about what happened in Genoa.

Anything else is outside my purview or something I shouldn't be discussing." "In that case, I would be more than happy to provide answers," said Folsom, shuffling his papers again.
