113: Kendal's Take on Testing a New Art Show Strategy at Loyola

Um, but today we're gonna talk about something you did right before Elsie was born.

Yes.

I've missed you.

I mean, we worked so hard this summer to get ahead, and we recorded so much that then when you went on maternity leave, it, it just felt so strange-

Yeah

... that we're, we weren't meeting every week to film a podcast.

So I'm, I'm glad to be back.

Um, but yeah, today we're gonna talk about the Loyola Art Show, and we have spoken about this in the past.

If you're, um, a listener, you have heard us talk about the show and give our thoughts.

But I thought it was important to kinda download again because each art show from year to year can shift and change, and you can have different results and outcomes depending on what you do differently or what you didn't do.

And so I thought, "Let's just go ahead and download, um, kind of my experience from this year's show." And it was their, this is their third year doing it, and I kinda feel like they were firing on all cylinders.

Now, before we get too far in the details, for our listeners that aren't familiar with it, it's in Mobile, right?

Yes.

It's in Mobile, Alabama.

It is, um, affiliated with a private school here in Mobile, and it is their big fundraiser.

Okay.

So it, it kind of mirrors a lot of other fundraiser or other art shows around the country as being, like, a main fundraiser.

It's put on by Kimberly Zuckerley.

She is, uh, a Southeastern artist herself.

She, um, I think that's what makes this show run so smoothly is she has the artist perspective in mind always, and she's got a great group of ladies who, um, just they really have figured out how to do it.

Um, this year the space was larger.

Okay.

So from an artist perspective, it was nicer that we weren't so cramped.
