Today we're talking about something that comes up all the time when people are thinking about changing their relationship with alcohol, the social side.

Because you can decide that alcohol isn't working for you anymore, you can be completely fed up with the hangovers, the anxiety, the broken promises to yourself, the mental gymnastics of moderation and still think, yeah, but what am I going to do when I go out? How am I going to go to dinner? How am I going to go to a wedding? What about birthdays, Christmas, holidays? What if everyone else is drinking? What if I'm awkward? What if I'm boring? What if I don't enjoy myself? And probably the biggest one, what if everybody notices? I've done an episode before about explaining your sobriety without over explaining it.

So I'm not going to spend this episode giving you 20 different scripts for what to say when somebody offers you a glass of wine.

The harder part is learning to believe that you can walk into that room, be completely yourself and not need alcohol to make the night work.
