And as plenty of kids across the city have gone back to school, Shawnee Police Officers John Medeiros and Darien Hillman have also gone back to school.

They are school resource officers for Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and Mill Valley High School, respectively.

They join us on this month's edition of the Pulse podcast to talk about being SROs, what their roles are at Shawnee Mission Northwest and Mill Valley High School, and what it means for them to be able to connect with students across Shawnee every single day.
