So last week I talked about comparison as a nervous system response, about belonging as a biological need, how estrogen rising in puberty has teenage girls dressing exactly like their friends, and it's because their nervous systems are doing exactly what nervous systems do.

That's all our bodies, that's all our systems are always trying to do at all times.

So there's this conditioning that we have as children where we're, you know, conditioned to being the good girl and behaving and acting in a certain way.

And then when we have a rise in estrogen as teenage girls, that is the hormone that wants us to belong and to be agreeable.

And As we age and become adults, it's like we're still sometimes doing the same things.

We're trying to dress like her, eat like her, look like her as we get older and trying to fit ourselves into some sort of box, wondering why it never really feels like it's quite right or it's never enough.
